"I really like Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 , the only thing is that I don't use the full 10 MegaPixels so I might have been better off with the next model down. Camera is very fast between shots. Startup time is good but sometimes it takes a little longer to focus for the first picture.
I find the picture quality is the best outdoors.
Battery life is a little shorter than my previous Sony camera but it is still good.

"As a former pro photographer, I resisted getting a digital camera for a long time. I felt very comfortable with the medium of film. I have always carried a point & shoot camera in my pocket for those unexpected times. I recently did a lot of research on digital point & shoot. I decided to get the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 and I've been more than pleased. I love the 28mm to 140mm equivalent,the macro facility and all the exposure options the camera has. The 10.1 megapixels has me printing quite large, clear pictures. A definite recommendation from me."

"I bought Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 because I wanted something pocket-sized and light-weight, with a decent zoom, plenty of megapixels and all the latest anti-blur technology.

The smile shutter function works really well and is handy for group or party situations, and capturing the moment with kids. LCD screen is large and very clear and I haven't needed to refer to the manual once because it's all very straightforward to use.

My only gripe so far would be that the viewfinder is tiny and pretty inadequate and I would prefer to use that sometimes for landscape shots.

It's a good-looking, smart little camera. Gets really nice people shots every time and has all the automatic settings you could hope for at this price. "

"Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 is an excellent camera for the price. It has great features and does all the things that a casual photographer would want. After doing a significant amount of comparison shopping I think this camera rates best for value and I would definitely recommend it to others. "

"sony w170 is a Good product, I'm very happy with it. The delivery to Eindhoven/Netherlands was not ideal though. The delivery service didn't find me at home for a couple of days but didn't leave any notes. "
